UAE Announces Visa-Free Entry for Indian Citizens with Valid US or Schengen Visa
The UAE Federation of Immigration and Customs Authority has introduced a visa-free entry facility for Indian citizens holding valid US resident visas, Green Cards, or Schengen visas. This change in policy aims to strengthen bilateral ties and promote tourism between the UAE and India.
Key Highlights of the New Visa Policy:
- Indian citizens with valid US or Schengen visas can obtain an Emirates visa after paying the required fee.
- Brigadier Shail Saeed Al Khayili, the authority’s director, noted that the change aligns with the long-term strategic relationship between the two countries.
Visa Fees and Details:
- A 14-day visa will be issued for 100 dirhams.
- For those wishing to extend their stay, a 14-day extension will cost 250 dirhams.
- A 60-day visa will also be available for 250 dirhams.
Health Tests for Foreign Workers:
In related news, the UAE has implemented mandatory medical tests for foreign workers entering the country. These tests are in line with international standards and aim to ensure the health of residents and visitors.
According to Craig Halpin, director of operations at a medical test center in Abu Dhabi, the tests will include a general health report, ensuring the wellbeing of individuals entering the UAE’s labor market.
