The hearing on the suspension of the sentence in the Iddat marriage case has been adjourned

The Islamabad Session Court has deferred the hearing of the case involving former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi regarding their marriage during the Iddat period to June 13. The court also postponed the consideration of the request to suspend the sentence.
Judge Afzal Kamju presided over the session, during which the complainant, Khawar Maneka, appeared and informed the court of his decision to change his legal representation. Maneka stated that although his current lawyer, Raja Rizwan Abbasi, is highly competent, his busy schedule prevents him from continuing with the case. Consequently, Maneka sought additional time to consult with new legal counsel, mentioning potential options including a lawyer from Lahore. Judge Kamju inquired about the duration required for this transition, and Maneka requested at least a week. The judge granted the request, allowing Maneka the needed time to adjust his legal team and asked him to return for the next court date. Maneka then marked his attendance and left the court.
Later, the hearing resumed with PTI’s lawyers, led by Sardar Masroof Talha Malik, appearing in court. They requested a recess, informing the court of an ongoing hearing in the Islamabad High Court. Judge Kamju asked for a suitable resumption time, and Sardar Masroof suggested 12 PM, noting their lawyers would be available by then. The court agreed to a recess until 12 PM.
Upon resumption, Sardar Masroof Advocate informed the court that the Islamabad High Court had scheduled the hearing for the suspension of the sentence on June 13. He requested that the session court adjourn its hearing until then. The court accepted this request and adjourned the hearing to June 13.
