Sher Afzal Marwat ‘saddened’ by the way PTI founder announced party decisions

“I am not upset with the PTI founder, however, why were these decisions made without hearing me out?” he asks
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Sher Afzal Marwat, recently expelled from the party’s core and political committees, expressed disappointment over the manner in which PTI founder Imran Khan announced party decisions concerning him.
Speaking to journalists outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, Marwat questioned the decision-making process, stating, “I am not upset with the PTI founder, but why were these decisions made without hearing me out?” He voiced his sadness over the treatment he received, feeling that he was disrespected by the party’s leadership.
Marwat offered to resign if the party preferred him to remain sidelined, noting that he has yet to meet the former prime minister. His remarks followed his removal from PTI’s key decision-making bodies on May 9, directed by Khan after Marwat publicly criticized the party’s top leaders and refused to work under them.
The party issued Marwat a show-cause notice for violating its code of conduct and policy. The notice accused him of making “irresponsible statements” that allegedly harmed PTI’s reputation and interests, despite clear instructions from Khan. It further stated that Marwat’s actions and remarks had damaged relations with other party members and stakeholders.
Marwat, known for his outspoken and controversial comments, has had conflicts with several party leaders, including Taimur Khan Jhagra, Omar Ayub, and Shibli Faraz.
Commenting on the legal challenges facing Imran Khan, Marwat dismissed the cases as baseless, accusing opponents of perpetually filing new cases. He suggested that the PTI founder’s release hinges on public support, stating, “When the people take to the streets, the state and these institutions will release him.”
