Potential Reduction in Petrol and Diesel Prices from August 16

Starting from August 16, there may be a reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel in Pakistan, offering some relief to consumers. According to sources, the price of petrol could drop by 8.36 rupees per liter, while diesel might see a decrease of 7.70 rupees per liter.
Other Fuel Prices to Decrease
In addition to petrol and diesel, the prices of light diesel and kerosene are also expected to fall. Light diesel may become cheaper by 4.49 rupees per liter, and kerosene could see a reduction of 7.71 rupees per liter.
Reasons Behind the Price Reduction
Government sources attribute this anticipated decrease to reduced fuel consumption by major global economies, which has led to lower international prices for petroleum products. However, with a few days left until the expected price change, fluctuations in Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricants (POL) prices are still possible.
Consumers are advised to stay updated as final prices will be confirmed closer to the date.
