PM Shehbaz Sharif Calls for Intensified Anti-Trafficking Efforts

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a review meeting focused on the prevention of trafficking, where he received a detailed briefing on current efforts and their outcomes.
Directive to Confiscate Smugglers’ Vehicles
The Prime Minister ordered the confiscation of vehicles used by smugglers, including those of their facilitators and transporters. He emphasized that individuals involved in smuggling will not be allowed to damage Pakistan’s economy.
Modern Technology in Smuggling Prevention
PM Shehbaz highlighted the importance of using modern technology to combat smuggling, noting a reduction in such activities due to recent efforts. He called for enhanced cooperation between the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the Ministry of Interior, and other relevant institutions.
Strategy for Employment in Border Areas
To address the root causes of trafficking, the Prime Minister directed the development of a comprehensive strategy aimed at providing employment opportunities in border areas, thereby reducing the incentives for involvement in smuggling activities.
