Marriage Halls, Cafes, and Restaurants to Close During SCO Summit in Islamabad-Rawalpindi
In preparation for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Conference, an order has been issued for the closure of marriage halls, cafes, restaurants, and snooker clubs in Islamabad and Rawalpindi from October 12 to 16.
The SCO summit, led by Pakistan, is set to take place in Islamabad on October 16 and 17, with high-profile leaders, including Chinese Premier Li Qiang, expected to attend.
Business Restrictions for Security
To ensure security during the event, the police have issued notices to local businesses mandating their closure during this period. Authorities have warned that any violations of the order will result in action against business owners. In addition, business owners have been asked to submit surety bonds to guarantee compliance with the decision.
Public Holiday
A public holiday has also been declared in the twin cities from October 14 to 16 to ease movement and security concerns during the summit.
The notices were delivered by SHOs of the respective police stations, and officials emphasize that these measures are crucial for maintaining security during the high-profile international event.
