Javeria Saud Reveals She Wrote the Song for “Ishq Murshid” Without Receiving Credit
Well-known Pakistani actress and producer Javeria Saud has revealed that she was the lyricist behind the song for the popular drama serial “Ishq Murshid”, but was not given credit for her work.
In an appearance on a private TV channel’s morning show, Javeria shared her experience, saying, “I have written title tracks for many Pakistani dramas, but I was never given credit for any of them.” She explained that even though she felt betrayed by her friends in the industry, she has no regrets about not being acknowledged for her contributions.
Javeria further disclosed that she was also the lyricist behind the original song for the first season of the popular drama “Khuda Aur Mohabbat” and that it gained so much popularity that it was reused in the second season. However, when modifications were made to the OST, the credit for the song was given to another artist. “When I complained, I was told that if the song hadn’t become popular, I wouldn’t have complained, and now that it’s a hit, I am asking for credit,” Javeria said.
Despite writing the song for “Ishq Murshid” and other drama title tracks, she reiterated that she has yet to be acknowledged for her work in the industry.
