Islamabad High Court Orders Removal of Shibli Faraz’s Name from ECL

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the removal of Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shibli Faraz’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL) within a week. The decision came after Shibli Faraz filed a contempt of court petition, as his name had not been removed from the list despite an earlier court ruling.
Court Warning to Interior Ministry
During the hearing, Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri inquired why Shibli Faraz’s name had not yet been removed from the ECL. The lawyer representing the government could not provide a clear answer or report.
The court warned that if the order was not implemented, the Interior Secretary would have to appear in person at the next hearing.
Justice Jahangiri’s Remarks
Justice Jahangiri questioned why such matters were not discussed in the National Assembly, reminding the parties involved that they are parliamentarians and should address these issues through appropriate legislative channels.
Court Directive
In conclusion, the Islamabad High Court has given the government one week to comply with the order and remove Shibli Faraz’s name from the ECL. Failure to do so will result in the Interior Secretary being summoned to the next hearing for further explanation.
