Iraqi Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Kolkata After Girl Falls Ill

An Iraqi Airways flight traveling from Baghdad to Guangzhou, China, had to make an emergency landing in Kolkata, India, on Wednesday after a young girl on board suddenly fell seriously ill.
Emergency Landing Due to Medical Condition
Officials reported that the 16-year-old girl fell ill during the flight, prompting the crew to request an emergency landing at Kolkata Airport. The flight had been in the air for about 30 minutes when the girl’s condition worsened.
Upon landing, the girl was immediately transferred to a nearby hospital in Kolkata, where, tragically, doctors confirmed her death.
Passengers and Crew Aboard
The flight carried a total of 10 passengers and crew members at the time of the incident. While the other passengers were unharmed, the sudden illness and passing of the young girl left the crew and passengers deeply shaken.
Body to Be Handed Over to Family
Following the necessary formalities, the authorities will hand over the girl’s body to her family members. The incident is a tragic reminder of the unpredictability of in-flight medical emergencies.
