Increase in heat intensity in Saudi Arabia, appeal to pilgrims to be careful

Saudi Arabia has issued a warning regarding the anticipated intense heat during this year’s Hajj pilgrimage days, advising pilgrims to adequately prepare for coping with the high temperatures.
Abdul Wahab Soomro, the Director General of the Hajj Mission Pakistan, emphasized the importance of maintaining hydration due to the high temperatures during the pilgrimage. He advised pilgrims to increase their water intake and steer clear of caffeinated and sugary beverages. Additionally, Soomro urged pilgrims to use masks, umbrellas, and sunglasses to shield themselves from the heat.
Meanwhile, in Arafat, efforts have been made to mitigate the heat by painting roads white. According to the General Roads Authority of Saudi Arabia, this special type of white paint can reduce surface temperatures by up to 20 degrees Celsius.
