If we stay in the past, we will not be able to move forward, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that China’s progress is an example for us, and if we stick to the past, we will not be able to move forward.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s ongoing five-day visit to China has been marked by a strong emphasis on fostering business and investment ties between the two nations. Addressing the Pak-China Business Forum in Shenzhen, Sharif reiterated his focus on seeking business partnerships rather than loans from China, citing China’s remarkable progress as a model for emulation.
Highlighting the importance of leaving past differences behind and advancing bilateral relations through dialogue, Sharif praised China’s economic trajectory and hailed it as Pakistan’s closest ally. Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb echoed Sharif’s sentiments, stressing the government’s commitment to economic reforms and positive indicators such as a projected decrease in the current account deficit and a significant drop in inflation rates.
At the Pak-China Business Conference, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, praised Shenzhen’s rapid development and expressed optimism about the potential for cooperation across various sectors. Sharif’s meeting with Zhao Jianjiang, the founder and chairman of Chinese company Transsion Holdings, further underscored the growing interest in investment opportunities. Transsion Holdings expressed interest in investing in mobile phone production, electric bikes, modern agriculture, and fintech in Pakistan.
Sharif directed federal ministers to collaborate with Transsion Holdings to formulate an action plan, emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing facilitative measures for foreign investors. He invited Transsion Holdings to capitalize on Pakistan’s abundant resources and youthful workforce by producing goods locally for both domestic consumption and export.
