Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the spokesperson for the Foreign Office, strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Chinese engineers near Karachi Airport, calling it a tragic and cowardly act. The attack resulted in the deaths and injuries of Chinese nationals, and Baloch expressed her deepest condolences and sympathies to the affected families, including both Chinese citizens and Pakistanis.

Condolences and Call for Justice

The spokesperson emphasized the nation’s prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured and condemned the attack as a blow not only to Pakistan but also to the long-standing and cherished friendship between Pakistan and China. She assured that those responsible for this brutal act, including those linked to the Majeed Brigade, will be brought to justice, vowing that the attack would not go unpunished.

Pakistan’s Commitment to Protect Chinese Citizens

Baloch affirmed that Pakistan’s security and law enforcement agencies are committed to capturing the perpetrators and their facilitators. She stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains in close contact with the Chinese Embassy, reflecting the deep bond of mutual respect and brotherhood between the two nations.

Pakistan, she added, reaffirms its strong commitment to protecting Chinese citizens, projects, and institutions, emphasizing the country’s dedication to working alongside China to combat terrorism.

Details of the Attack

The attack occurred when a car filled with explosives struck a convoy of foreigners near Karachi Airport. The explosion killed three people, including foreigners, and injured 17 others. Investigative sources revealed that the car used in the attack was driven by a suicide bomber who waited for the convoy’s arrival before crashing into the vehicle.

The explosion, which happened last night, was a loud and devastating incident that left several wounded, highlighting the continued threat of terrorism in the region.

Pakistan-China Brotherhood

Baloch reiterated the importance of the partnership between Pakistan and China, often referred to as “iron brothers”, underscoring the countries’ united stance against terrorism. Both nations will continue working together to ensure the safety and security of their people and shared projects.

This tragic incident once again stresses the need for unwavering vigilance and cooperation in the fight against terrorism to protect the lives and interests of both nations.
