Electricity becomes costlier at Rs 3.33 per unit

Just before the budget, citizens faced another blow as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) increased electricity rates across the country to Rs 3.33 per unit for consumers.
NEPRA sources attribute the increase in electricity prices to the monthly fuel adjustment. This hike will reflect in consumers’ bills for the current month, adding an extra Rs 3.33 per unit for one billing cycle. However, it’s important to note that electric and lifeline consumers won’t be affected by this increase. NEPRA has issued a notification regarding the adjusted electricity rates.
