On the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir hosted a special ceremony to honor the contributions of ex-servicemen. The event, organized by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), saw a large turnout of retired army officers and soldiers.

Tribute to Retired Officers

General Munir paid a heartfelt tribute to the retired officers, acknowledging their unwavering dedication and significant role in shaping the nation’s history. He emphasized the importance of unity and resilience, especially in the face of the numerous challenges Pakistan faces today. The Army Chief called on the ex-servicemen to continue contributing to the nation’s development and prosperity, highlighting the critical role they play even after their service.

Warning Against Fake News and Propaganda

In his address, General Munir also warned of the dangers posed by fake news and propaganda, which he noted are being spread by hostile elements aiming to weaken the bond between the Pakistani people and their armed forces. He assured that the strong support of the nation would ensure the failure of such malicious efforts.

Support from Former Officers

The ex-servicemen, including former Army Chiefs General (retd) Raheel Sharif and General (retd) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, expressed their confidence in the current leadership of the Pakistan Army. They pledged their continued support in overcoming both internal and external security challenges, reaffirming their commitment to the nation.

The ceremony underscored the enduring bond between the serving and retired members of the Pakistan Army, highlighting their collective commitment to the nation’s welfare and security.
