Chicken Meat Prices Stable in Lahore, Farm Egg Prices Soar
In Lahore, the price of chicken meat has remained steady since yesterday. The cost of broiler chicken meat is currently 577 rupees per kilogram. Over the past four days, there has been an 18 rupee decrease in the price per kilogram.
The wholesale price for live broiler chicken is set at 384 rupees per kilogram, while the retail price is slightly higher at 398 rupees per kilogram.
Rise in Egg Prices
Contrary to the stability in chicken prices, the cost of farm eggs has surged. The price per dozen has increased by 10 rupees, bringing it to 301 rupees. In some cities, the price of chicken meat varies significantly, ranging from 650 to 750 rupees per kilogram. Additionally, in Islamabad, farm eggs were being sold at 340 rupees per dozen just yesterday.
This price hike in eggs is a cause for concern as it adds to the already rising cost of living for many households.
