Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Defends Federal Constitutional Court, Criticizes Opposition’s Stance

Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has criticized the opposition for their stance against the Federal Constitutional Court, stating that their objections are based on personal likes and dislikes rather than principles. He pointed out that many of today’s critics had previously supported the idea of the Federal Constitutional Court.
Judicial Reforms: A Core PPP Manifesto Focus
In his statement, Bilawal emphasized that since 2007, the PPP has consistently participated in elections with a manifesto that prioritizes judicial reforms. This includes the establishment of a Federal Constitutional Court, which has been a long-standing goal for the party. He highlighted that the concept of a federal constitutional court was part of the PPP’s election manifestos for both 2013 and 2024.
Commitment to Representational Justice
Bilawal Bhutto underlined that every representative elected under his leadership has been given a mandate by the people to work towards the creation of a Federal Constitutional Court where equal representation is ensured for all. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to reforming Pakistan’s judicial system to enhance fairness and representation across the board.
The PPP leader’s statement comes amid a broader debate about judicial reforms and the future of Pakistan’s legal system, with his party pushing for the establishment of a court that ensures balanced representation and addresses long-standing legal concerns in the country.
