Balochistan Government to Enroll 400 Laborers’ Children in Higher Education

The Balochistan government has announced plans to enroll approximately 400 children of laborers in higher educational institutions across Pakistan on scholarships this year. This initiative aims to provide educational opportunities to children from laboring families, fostering their potential for a better future.
Scholarship Enrollment Details
- Initial Registration: The Labour and Manpower Department has already registered 200 children of laborers for the scholarship program.
- Upcoming Registrations: An additional 200 registrations are expected to be completed by July 15, 2024 .
Review Meeting and Decision
The decision was made during a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday. The meeting included discussions on the Youth Skills Development Program and other key initiatives.

Future Plans for Youth Development
- Skilled Youth Abroad: The first batch of skilled youth from Balochistan is scheduled to be sent abroad by March 2025.
- Unskilled Workers Abroad: Plans are in place to send unskilled workers for employment opportunities overseas by December 2025.
Chief Minister’s Directives
Chief Minister Bugti emphasized the importance of accelerating the implementation of the Youth Skills Development Program. He highlighted the need to create employment opportunities for the trained youth, ensuring they can contribute effectively to both the local and international job markets .
