Azerbaijan President Arrives in Pakistan for Two-Day Visit

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Pakistan for a two-day official visit from July 11-12, at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Upon arrival, President Aliyev was warmly received by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, amidst a 21-gun salute. Two children dressed in traditional attire presented bouquets to the visiting dignitary.

President Aliyev’s visit underscores the strong cooperation and leadership-level dialogue between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. Recently, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the inaugural session of the Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan Trilateral Summit, held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit. The summit also included:

During the summit, PM Shehbaz Sharif proposed establishing tripartite institutional mechanisms to bolster economic and investment cooperation among Pakistan, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan.
