Australia secured a 28-run victory against England in the first T20I of a three-match series, held in Southampton. After winning the toss, England chose to field, allowing Australia to bat first.
Australia posted a challenging total of 180 runs, led by Travis Head’s aggressive knock of 59 runs off just 23 balls. Other significant contributions came from Matthew Short (41), Josh Inglis (37), while Cameron Green (13) and Marcus Stoinis (10) added vital runs. England’s bowlers put up a solid fight, with Liam Livingstone taking 3 wickets and Saqib Mahmood and Jofra Archer grabbing 2 wickets each. Adil Rashid and Sam Curran picked up a wicket apiece.
