Update on Anti-Terrorism Court Proceedings
The Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore held a hearing regarding Asad Umar’s interim bail related to the May 9 incidents. During the session, the court inquired about the investigation process involving Umar. Umar’s lawyer noted that his client had fully cooperated with the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), providing video evidence. However, he mentioned the absence of the investigating officer in all three cases against Umar, leading to a delay.
Umar’s legal team also highlighted that he has been attending hearings and has secured interim bail for over 14 months, appearing in court three times. The Anti-Terrorism Court has adjourned the case, summoning the DSP Legal in a personal capacity for the next session.
