Yo Yo Honey Singh Shares His Journey with Faith and Sufi Teachings

Indian music producer Hirdesh Singh, popularly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh, has opened up about his spiritual journey and how he came to understand Islamic teachings through encounters with Sufi saints and religious scholars.
In an interview with The Lallantop, Singh shared that his curiosity about Islam grew after relocating to Mohali, Punjab in 2007, a period during which his fame began to rise. Through interactions with Sufi saints, Singh was introduced to the teachings of Prophet Moses, Prophet Jesus, and Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Them). He explained that his deep curiosity led him to ask numerous questions about the religion, which were answered by the scholars.
Singh mentioned that while he initially embraced these teachings, the fame and wealth he achieved in 2012 caused him to stray from his faith, falling under the influence of negative distractions. Reflecting on this period, he admitted, “That was the biggest mistake of my life.”
However, after battling a life-threatening illness in 2018, Singh’s faith in God grew stronger, and he expressed a renewed commitment to his spiritual beliefs. The experience deepened his connection with God, leading him to a more meaningful understanding of life and faith.
