Georgia, USA: Two American Airlines planes collided at Atlanta Airport, causing significant damage but no immediate reports of injuries.
According to a foreign news agency, the collision occurred when a plane bound for Tokyo struck the rear of another plane that was preparing to depart for Louisiana while taxiing on the runway. The impact caused the rear of the Louisiana-bound plane to turn ninety degrees.
Passengers and Damage
Airport officials confirmed that there were 221 passengers on board the flight to Tokyo. Additionally, the wing of the second plane involved was damaged during the collision.
