Khawaja Asif Challenges KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur Over Imran Khan’s Detention

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has thrown down the gauntlet to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, challenging him to release PTI founder Imran Khan within 15 days, following Gandapur’s recent statement at a PTI rally.
Reaction to Ali Amin Gandapur’s Speech
In his statement, Khawaja Asif responded sharply to Gandapur’s remarks from the rally, where Gandapur had referenced Bangladesh and issued a warning about leading an army of Pashtuns to Punjab. Asif expressed concern over the tone of Gandapur’s threats and questioned his capability to establish peace in his own constituency, saying:
“If he has so many armies, he should control terrorism or accept that they are allies of terrorists.”
Imran Khan’s Release Challenge
Khawaja Asif further pressed Gandapur to act on his bold claims, saying that if Gandapur had the means to organize an army, he should prove it by freeing Imran Khan within 15 days, sticking to his words from the rally.
Historical Reference
Asif also recalled a past encounter where Ali Amin Gandapur allegedly met with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Asif hinted that Gandapur was following someone’s instructions, stating:
“Ali Amin should also have mentioned in his speech whose instructions he had come to meet Shahbaz Sharif for the first time.”
This challenge comes after Ali Amin Gandapur’s fiery speech, in which he vowed to take action if Imran Khan was not freed within 15 days. Gandapur’s words have sparked heated political debate, as the PTI leadership continues to face legal pressures.
