Over 500 Fake Anti-Polio Teams Exposed in Quetta

It has come to light that more than 500 anti-polio teams in Quetta have been involved in running a fake vaccination campaign. These teams have been accused of marking the nails of children who have not been vaccinated, falsely indicating that they have received the polio vaccine.
Caught Through Monitoring
The CEO of the Emergency Polio Center revealed that these fraudulent activities were detected through monitoring processes. This discovery raises concerns about the effectiveness of the polio eradication efforts in the region.
Balochistan: A New Epicenter of Polio
After being polio-free for 28 months, Balochistan has unfortunately witnessed a resurgence in polio cases, making it a new focal point for the disease in Pakistan. In the last seven months, 12 new cases of polio have been reported, along with three deaths attributed to the disease.
Special Anti-Polio Campaign Announced
In response to the alarming situation, authorities have announced a special anti-polio campaign set to begin on September 9 in the province. The campaign aims to address the gaps in vaccination coverage and prevent further spread of the disease.
