In a significant move, the founders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have decided to halt the return of leaders who previously left the party. This decision will be evaluated by a newly formed seven-member committee, with final determinations deferred until after the release of the PTI founder.

Committee Formation and Leadership

The committee, established under the PTI founder’s guidance, will be led by Shah Mahmood Qureshi and comprises notable members including:

  • Asad Qaiser
  • Hamid Khan
  • Shehryar Afridi
  • Barrister Gohar
  • Shibli Faraz

A female member will also be included in the committee to address specific issues related to returning female members. Shandana Gulzar will manage cases involving women and report on the reasons behind their departure from the party.

Evaluation Process

The committee’s mandate is to thoroughly assess each case of former leaders seeking to rejoin PTI. Sources indicate that the committee will scrutinize the circumstances under which these leaders left the party and evaluate their potential return based on current party needs and loyalty.

Decision Timeline

The final decisions regarding the re-admission of former leaders will be made only after the PTI founder’s release. This approach reflects a cautious stance by the party’s leadership to ensure stability and loyalty within its ranks.

Current Status

As per sources, the committee will compile a list of names to be submitted to the PTI founder for approval. As of now, 220 leaders have departed from PTI, and their potential return is contingent on the committee’s evaluations and the founder’s final decision.

Committee’s Role

The committee’s role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and unity of the party. By evaluating returning leaders’ commitment to PTI’s principles, the committee aims to ensure that only those who genuinely align with the party’s vision and values are re-integrated.

Quote from a Source:

“The committee will meticulously review each case to ensure that only those who are committed to PTI’s vision and have genuine reasons for their departure are considered for re-admission.”

Conclusion

The formation of this committee and the halt on re-admission of former leaders underscore PTI’s commitment to organizational coherence and loyalty. This structured approach reflects a strategic effort to strengthen the party by carefully managing the reintegration of its former members.

Key Points:

  • A seven-member committee is established to evaluate returning leaders.
  • Decisions on re-admissions will be made post-release of the PTI founder.
  • Female member Shandana Gulzar will handle cases involving women.
  • 220 leaders have left PTI, with their return subject to committee evaluation.
