Naseem hit two boundaries and scored 10 runs on four balls in his valiant attempt to win the match for Pakistan
Pakistan’s disheartening loss to India in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 not only disappointed fans but also left pacer Naseem Shah visibly emotional during yesterday’s match at Nassau International County Cricket Stadium in New York.
The Pakistani bowlers put on an impressive display, dismissing the Indian team for a modest total of 119 runs. However, the Green Shirts’ batting lineup faltered, leading to a narrow six-run defeat to their arch-rivals.
At one point, Pakistan seemed in control at 76/2, but a flurry of quick wickets and a high number of dot balls created mounting pressure on the remaining batsmen.
The match’s climax saw Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi attempting to clinch a memorable victory. Naseem contributed 10 runs, hitting two boundaries in the four balls he faced, but despite his valiant effort, Pakistan managed only 113 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
The young right-handed batter, heartbroken by the defeat, was seen wiping away tears as he left the pitch, with teammate Shaheen Afridi offering consolation to the 21-year-old.
Naseem’s courageous performance struck a chord with fans, who took to social media to acknowledge and praise his determined efforts to secure a win for the Men in Green.
One social media user noted, “Man even earned respect and appreciation from the rivals,” referencing post-match photos of Indian captain Rohit Sharma and others showing support for the right-arm pacer.

Meanwhile, another called Naseem a hero and said that the whole country was behind him.
